I will introduce what kind of hotel Tokyo Station Hotel is, what kind of souvenirs they have, product features, popular products, and what I actually bought. Tambaya, the Tokyo Station Hotel’s souvenir store, has been in business since 1690, and as its name suggests, it is a historic souvenir shop located in the Tokyo Station Hotel. Here, you will find products associated with the Tokyo Station area and the history of Tokyo Station and the hotel.

Souvenirs from Tambaya

Tambaya, located in the Tokyo Station Hotel, is a souvenir store that sells fashion accessories, gifts, and the hotel’s original sweets and teas. Tambaya offers new Tokyo souvenirs based on the theme of “Toki (時).

Popular Tambaya souvenirs include a reissued pin badge and tote bag with the hotel’s old design, Blooming Nakanishi handkerchiefs, and original flavored teas made in collaboration with Bejman & Burton¹. Also available are seasonal items such as marron glacé and black Wagyu beef European-style curry.

Tokyo Station Hotel Tambaya is located outside the Marunouchi South Exit ticket gates of Tokyo Station. It is just to the left of the ticket gate, and although the store is small in size, there are no steps and it is wheelchair accessible. However, it is small, so you will need to be creative when moving around to avoid bumping into things around you or having to ask someone at the store to help you pick up an item.

The store is directly connected to Tokyo Station, making it convenient if you are coming by train. Tokyo Station is served by many train lines, including the JR Yamanote Line and the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line.

If you are coming by car, you can enter the parking lot from the hotel’s B1F entrance. The parking fee is 1,300 yen per hour for general use customers, and 650 yen for an additional 30 minutes. For overnight guests, the fee is 2,100 yen per night from 14:00 to 14:00 the next day. For meetings, up to 3 hours is free of charge, and for banquets, up to 5 hours. Free parking is also available depending on the conditions of use of the restaurant and bar. Please note that the height limit of the parking lot is 2.9 meters, but the parking porch area is 2.3 meters.

If you are coming from the airport, JR Narita Express and limousine buses are available from Narita Airport, and JR Keihin Tohoku Line and limousine buses are available from Haneda Airport. For detailed timetables and fares, please check the official websites of each transportation provider.

Introduction of popular souvenir products

Popular souvenir items at Tambaya include a reprinted pin badge and tote bag of the hotel’s old design, a Blooming Nakanishi handkerchief, and original flavored tea in collaboration with Bedjeman & Burton. These products are all designed to give visitors a sense of the history and charm of Tokyo Station and the Tokyo Station Hotel.

The pin badges and tote bags are especially eye-catching with their retro and stylish designs. The handkerchiefs and teas are soothing with their high-quality materials and fragrance.

I also bought two handkerchiefs with the Tokyo Station Hotel logo on them as a keepsake.

There were 4 colors (white, pink, blue, and purple) and I couldn’t decide which one to get! I chose colors that I don’t think people buy often! Blue and purple are perfect for men’s gifts, aren’t they?

Tokyo Station Hotel Original Product Introduction

Tambaya also sells original Tokyo Station Hotel products. For example, there are mugs, towels, and key chains with the hotel logo. These products are a reminder of your stay at the Tokyo Station Hotel.

The hotel also sells seasonal items such as marron glacé and European-style curry with black Japanese beef. These products are the same as those served in the hotel’s restaurants. You can enjoy the luxury of having the taste of a hotel at home.

Tokyo Station Hotel original sweets and teas

Tokyo Station Hotel original sweets and teas are available at Tambaya. The following products are available

• Flavored teas created exclusively for this hotel in collaboration with the Parisian luxury tea store Bedjeman & Barton. Timeless Elegance” blended with rose petals and “Everlasting Story” with citrus fruits will make for a fine tea time. Each is 2,300 yen per can, or 4,800 yen for a set of two cans with Earl Grey (tax included).
• This hearty set includes moist baked pound cake, four kinds of financier to enjoy with different flavors, and melt-in-your-mouth cookie Diamants. The box depicting a station house makes a perfect gift. 5,500 yen (tax included) TSH Sweets Selection
• This set includes an assortment of original flavor tea in collaboration with Bejman & Burton, subtly sweet honey, and chocolate-flavored financier. Packaged in a box with a station building motif; TSH financier box 3,500 yen (tax included).

I did not buy the tea since it was offered during my stay at the Tokyo Station Hotel, but I did buy two of the above boxed snacks, which are exclusive to the hotel. The large red box-type box was also very luxurious. There are four unique flavors to choose from and you can enjoy a variety of tastes. It was perfect for having afternoon tea at home.

It was so delicious! Everyone in the family loved it! I felt as if I had tasted England! I can’t wait to try it again when I’m in Tokyo Station! I think it’s on sale at the online store too. But they don’t always have them in stock, so it’s better to make a reservation! Reservations are required (at least 2 weeks in advance).

Tokyo Station Hotel’s fourth exhibition is “150 Years of Railroads and Art

Just a few days ago, I went to see an exhibition that was being held at the museum (Tokyo Station Gallery) in the Marunouchi Station Building of Tokyo Station on my way home from a stay at the Tokyo Station Hotel. Although the exhibition has already ended, it was very rich in content.

A journey that traces 150 years of railroad history with art.

Japan’s railroad system, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year, began service between Shimbashi and Yokohama in 1872. Coincidentally, the word “art” first appeared in 1872. (*) Railroads and art have been accompanying the flow of modernization in Japan for 150 years, sometimes being tossed about by the currents of modernization.

This exhibition will reveal the relationship between railroads and art through a variety of perspectives, including not only railroad history and art history, but also politics, society, war, customs, and more.

This is the Tokyo Station Gallery’s most comprehensive exhibition to date, bringing together about 150 masterpieces of “railroad art” from about 40 locations throughout Japan, including masterpieces, controversial works, and problematic works.

A station attendant, who has always been very helpful to me, told me that she was staying at the Tokyo Station Hotel and that she had gone to see the “150 Years of Railways and Art” exhibition at the Tokyo Station Gallery.

I decided to go, as it was a good opportunity for me to see the exhibition, as long as one caregiver was free.

I was a little disappointed to find out that the disabled person with a disability certificate could get a 100 yen discount…

We purchased our tickets in advance from the Tokyo Station Gallery’s official website! (It seems that the exhibition changes about every two months.)

(The exhibition content seems to change about twice a year.) When we actually went to see the exhibition, there was an elevator, and the order of the wheelchair route was slightly different, so we did not feel it was that inconvenient. I don’t know if there were areas we couldn’t see, though.

Tokyo Station Gallery is located directly connected to Tokyo Station (in front of the Marunouchi North Exit ticket gate of JR Tokyo Station).

Nearby, there was a powerful actual poster, and bam!

We also received a small piece of paper with a warning.

The corridor where the exhibits were displayed could be photographed!

Not only this, but many other items were displayed with documents and original sizes.

You will normally be guided to the stairway route, but those who cannot use the stairs, such as those in wheelchairs or with disabilities, may use the elevator. In that case, please note that you will be taken to a different route for viewing.

Along the way there are corridors, rest rooms, and a store!

This is a summary of the Tokyo Station Gallery’s limited-time event “150 Years of Railroads and Art”. While I am studying design, I am also involved with railroads, which are close to my heart, and from both of these points of view, it was a valuable opportunity for me to learn many things through photographs and actual items. The tour lasted about an hour, but I think it was well worth it because of the many wonderful works on display.

How to reserve breakfast at Tokyo Station Hotel

Unless you are planning an overnight stay package that includes breakfast, if you wish to dine at the Atrium in the Tokyo Station Atrium

You will need to make an advance online reservation online or by phone.

The reality is that it is very difficult to get a reservation, as the place is so popular that reservations fill up quickly.

In the past, I also tried to make a reservation for afternoon tea at the Tokyo Station Hotel, but was completely wiped out.

It might be a good idea to make a plan about a month in advance and apply for reservations as soon as they start, while trying to predict the start date of reservations.

Surprisingly, they are open early in the morning.

By about 7:00 am, the place was already crowded.

So I strongly recommend that you go first thing in the morning if you want to go, especially if you are staying at the hotel.

Access

Take the elevator dedicated to the atrium for guest rooms to the 4th floor, and the breakfast room is right in front of you.

Non-guests are requested to stop by the Guest Relations Desk in the lobby on the first floor of the Tokyo Station Hotel. Tell them your purpose at the entrance and you will be guided to the elevator for guest rooms only.

Like the other guest room elevators, it was gilded and luxurious.

It is deep, and the top is slightly mirrored and reflective, so it can be backed up.

There is also a button on the side, making it easy for wheelchair users to push and get in and out.

There were also signs with handrails and wheelchair markings to guide you to the restrooms.

Enter the atrium and go a short distance to the right to find the restrooms.

The restroom on the 4th floor is probably one of the newest in the Tokyo Station Hotel.

It was that clean. The multipurpose restroom was spacious enough to fit a wheelchair.

The position of the toilet paper might be just right, but the position of the tissue might be a little high, so short people might want to bring a handkerchief.

For your assistance

After presenting our breakfast tickets, we first secured a comfortable seat to enter.

In doing so, we were asked to move our chair out of the way so that we could enter in a wheelchair.

Next, the staff in the atrium on the 4th floor brought our meals to us several times.

This was helpful because it is difficult to move around in a wheelchair while carrying heavy items.

There were several staff members so the process was very smooth and we did not have to wait.

We were also impressed with the care of the staff who put things away and noticed us without us having to tell them.

If you need help, it would be kind to let them know in advance what time you will be there.

”Atrium” in retrospect with photos

There were bookshelves, sofa seating, and even a TV.

From everything to everything else, everything was full of luxury.

A model of Tokyo Station was also on display. The fact that we are eating on the top floor in the middle of this hotel…!

I think this was the most wonderful breakfast I have ever had at a hotel I have stayed at.

I had a very special breakfast at a place I had longed for and took my time.

I would like to report on what kind of food we actually had in the atrium on the top floor of Tokyo Station.

There were so many different things offered, and if I had taken a little bit of everything, I would have had too much to put on the table.

It’s not every day you get to enjoy such a delicious breakfast. It may not happen so often.

A real-life elevator story

Waiting for the elevator at Universal City Station

We took the monorail and train from Itami Airport to Universal City Station to visit Universal Studios.

Since Koro and Usa are in electric wheelchairs, it is difficult for them to go up and down stairs and escalators.

When we arrived at the station and headed for the elevator, a young couple with one large carry-on case was waiting for the elevator.

The trains are crowded when they arrive, and there were at least four or five groups of people with strollers in tow behind our group of electric wheelchair users.

But we saw them and rode the elevator up without a hitch.

I want you to think of it this way and look for it.

Of course, this does not mean that you should not take the elevator.

I understand that you are carrying heavy luggage, and you may not know that there is an escalator at the station.

But there are many people who have difficulty getting around without an elevator.

An online petition has been launched to help wheelchair users use JR trains more comfortably. In an elevator at the Osaka Metro.

When I was getting on the elevator at the Osaka Metro, the man who came after me tried to force me on quite a bit.

The elevator was crammed with two wheelchairs, myself, my carry-on case, and another friend.

In the end, my friend took the stairs, and the uncle who came later took the elevator.

He said he had a bad leg.

But no matter how bad his legs are, how can he push the person waiting ahead of him to get on the elevator?

Can’t he wait until the next elevator?

There is Corona, and I understand that they are in a hurry, but if they get on the elevator when it is crowded, they will be in trouble.

Corona can make you very sick with a disability, so I’d avoid the density!

But you have to ride the elevator to get around, so if there are a lot of people on it, I’d rather wait until the next one.

I believe that people in wheelchairs, baby strollers, and other people who have difficulty moving should have priority in elevators, but it is not the same as forcing them out of the way or asking them to give way with the feeling that “you have priority, so you should give way.

It would be nice if people who have difficulty moving can move around comfortably with a willingness to give way and a sense of gratitude on the part of the person who is given the right to move.

Take the elevator right outside Osaka Station.

When we went to the Umeda Sky Building from Osaka Station, we looked for an elevator and found one, but it didn’t seem to be an elevator for a station building, because it went up to a very high floor.

After looking for a few more elevators, we finally found one that looked like it could take us, although it was crowded, so I had my two wheelchair users take the elevator and my friend and I took the escalator to meet them downstairs.

When it is absolutely impossible to ride the elevator easily, we may have only two people in wheelchairs ride the elevator and use the escalator even if they are caregivers.

However, it is best if the caregivers can ride together in case something goes wrong.

If you see someone who has difficulty moving around, I hope you will consider the option of taking the escalator, even if it is on the way to the destination floor.

This time, I went to have a superb breakfast at Keio Plaza Hotel, which offers a superb breakfast, so I will write about it.

The superb breakfast is not available for visitors, so you have to stay overnight or use the day use plan with breakfast.

If you are coming from Shinjuku West Exit, you can go through the underground passage and exit from the Estech Information Building, which is close to the Keio Plaza Hotel, so you can get there without getting too wet in the rain.

The earliest reservation I could get in was at 6:30, so I went at 6:30 and was first in line.

We started with the egg dish!

I was so happy to be able to eat shrimp and crab in the morning, so luxurious ♡.

I really enjoyed all the pulled eggs and luxurious ingredients.

There was freshly cooked rice in an earthenware pot, open sandwiches topped with cut up salmon or ham, hot vegetables, and much more!

There was also Japanese food, including grilled fish and grated yam.

The salads were all delicious with homemade dressing, red wine vinegar and white wine vinegar, and lots of colorful vegetables.

As for drinks, there was unlimited champagne, but this time I only drank non-alcoholic drinks.

But there were just too many premium, rich-tasting juices like LaFrance juice and grated apple juice–too good!

There was a wide variety of desserts, not only the standard fresh fruit, but also cakes, danishes, and gelato.

The chef finished the Danish in front of us, and we told him what toppings we wanted and he would put them on, but we were greedy and asked him to put them all on (laugh).

There was also a sugar-free shortcake and a basque cheesecake, all of which were delicious.

The raw caramel sauce was so rich and delicious that I ate it straight off the bread instead of dipping it in it!

It was gorgeous and so delicious that I ate so much that I felt sick, but it was a really delicious breakfast that I would go back for if I had the chance.

What a surprise, this exquisite breakfast is ending on December 30, 2022 (´;omg).

I don’t know what kind of breakfast it will be from January, but I would like to go back to eat it when it comes back.

This time we introduced the “Superb Breakfast” at Keio Plaza Hotel, although it has already ended.

Although the “Superb Breakfast” is over, Keio Plaza Hotel offers various other plans such as Club Floor Stay with lounge access and Gastronomic Stay.

Guide to the hotel’s route

Since the rooms are located on the third floor, go straight toward the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station, turn around at the end of the street and take the atrium elevator to the second floor, or go straight down the street again and take the elevator for guest rooms to the second floor.

After that, go straight in that direction and you will see a manual door, open the leading door.

You will then be on the second floor of the dome at the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station, so cross the dome about halfway across.

Then you will see a manual door again, so please open it and follow the path further to the back of the building.

You will arrive at Blanc Rouge French Restaurant.

Prior Consideration

When I made the restaurant reservation, I noted that I did not like hard foods.

I could not swallow and avoided hard foods as much as possible.

Therefore, we were served as little hard food as possible.

The meat was a little tough, so I had it cut into bite-sized pieces.

Even so, I still left some of the hard food out, but I did my best to eat it.

I do not have any allergies, but I cannot eat hard food, seafood (octopus, squid, shrimp, etc.), mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, or spicy food.

In that sense, it would be a relief to know in advance what kind of ingredients will be used in the menu.

Restrooms near restaurant

Before entering the restaurant, I had already used the restroom, but during the meal I got a stomach ache, so I walked to the restroom. (It wasn’t that long of a distance, and it was within walking distance, so I thought walking might make me a little hungry.)

But there was a problem here.

This was also a manual door, and the sink was too high for me to reach, so I had to ask a passerby to get me some water.

I was still not feeling well after that, so I rested for a while on a chair that was nearby.

A staff member noticed me and had me temporarily kneel there, and he also took my wheelchair, and from there he switched the wheelchair from electric to manual mode and pushed me to my hotel room.

I had never had such a sudden stomach ache outside before, so maybe I could have chosen to leave it behind and not force it when I was getting full (I guess I ate too much…).

Thank you so much to the staff who carried us.

Lovely hospitality

Everything on the dinner menu was delicious, but the portions were so large that

We had to stop eating once we were near the limit of what we could eat anymore.

Therefore, we were allowed to take the last dessert and drinks back to our hotel room.

Thank you very much to all the staff who took care of us as best they could.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience and worry we caused you.

We should have been hungry enough to eat food before the courses and other meals…

Some people find it quite difficult to eat the amount of food for one adult, so if there was a menu with child-sized portions, even those who can’t eat a lot might be able to finish the meal. Therefore, I am hoping for a half-size course menu or a menu that can be customized.

When I am in a wheelchair, I often have to sit all the time and it is hard for me to exercise, so I am often not hungry when I eat. Also, since you are shorter and your stomach is likely to be smaller than others your age, you may want to eat two meals a day with lighter meals before that when you eat course meals or other foods that are large in quantity. Or, share the food, have them eat the larger portions, or let them take it home. At any rate, we are grateful to those who helped us. After my condition worsened and after dinner, I immediately fell asleep in bed and the next day, I was able to recover in perfect condition.

I’m super lucky because I got a super deal on a hotel I’ve always dreamed of staying at!

This 4-star luxury hotel also has a restaurant with a breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, and dinner, and is so popular that reservations are hard to come by. The hotel is so hotly contested that rooms fill up quickly.

With few steps, wide aisles, and gentle slopes, wheelchair access was smooth.

The elevator button was also on the side and I could reach it even when I was in a wheelchair.

It also had a mirror and it was easy to get off with the back up. Two wheelchairs fit in it.

In places, there are touch-sensitive automatic doors as you go up the elevator to your room.

When you hold the room key over the black area, the automatic door will open.

The door to my room was heavy and difficult to open.

I could not open it with one hand. I had to use both hands and try hard to open it.

～How to open the door

(1) Touch the card to the sensor.

(2) When the light turns green, turn the doorknob.

As you can see, the place where the room key is held up or inserted is a little higher, so I guess it is just barely reachable. If you have a high seat height or can stand or have long arms, I think you can reach it.

When closing, it is an automatic lock. Even when leaving the room, it was difficult to open the door while in the wheelchair, so I put the door stopper on the bottom and left the door open. Then, in the meantime, I had to take the wheelchair out and pull the door stopper out, which was a bit of a challenge.

The door at the entrance to the dome is a sliding/push door, so we had help getting to the dinner venue, Blanc Rouge. It is not an automatic door, so it is a bit of a struggle, but I managed to get the door open while in a wheelchair.

This was my first time viewing the dome from above, and I was very impressed. It was very artistic.

Considerations written at the time of advance reservation

When making a reservation, I included the following three special notes

• That I will be staying in a wheelchair.
• Preferred time for dinner
• I do not like hard foods.

After making the reservation, the hotel staff sent me an e-mail confirming the reservation and the special considerations.

She kindly stated, “We have bath chairs with backrests and non-slip mats to set inside the bathtub as loaner items. Just in case we have them in stock, we would be happy to discuss your intentions with you.” She suggested, “We have a non-slip mat to set inside the bathtub.

Since it was the first time for two wheelchair users to stay together, we were wondering what kind of consideration we needed to make. About a week before the event, I contacted them by e-mail and phone about their answers and what they would be happy to ask for in addition.

To be added as a request

As a wheelchair user myself, I do not have much experience in lodging, so it was difficult for me to imagine what would make my stay more convenient and comfortable. I picked up a few things that would be difficult for a wheelchair user with no grip to do by himself in the absence of able-bodied people. For reference, here is what I told the hotel.

• Prepare bath chairs and non-slip mats → I have difficulty standing for long periods of time, so to prevent me from falling over.
• Help at the breakfast buffet and time to come to the restaurant→to prevent heavy items from being carried
• Putting high objects in low places→Because he is short and cannot reach them
• Loosening the shower and other hard to turn parts→Because I have almost no grip strength
• Charging and replacing the battery of an electric wheelchair → because I cannot remove it

If you have a family member or friend around to help you, this may not be a problem, but if you are the only wheelchair user in the situation, there are many things that you may not be able to do.

What you noticed and took into consideration when we arrived at the hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel and checked in, there was a staff member standing by to assist us together.

He then showed us to our room, handed us our room key, and explained everything from how to open and close the door to how to turn on the lights, details about the inside of the room, amenities, and so on.

At that time, he fulfilled our requests that we had told him in advance.

After taking a picture of the appearance of the original room, he placed the amenities and other items that were out of reach in a low place, which was very helpful.

There was already a chair and mat in the bathroom in the room.

We also checked to see if the hot water could be used properly, and it worked fine, even for someone with no grip.

However, we did notice some new considerations when we arrived at our room.

• Prepare door stoppers as doors are surprisingly heavy
• Smaller change of clothes to replace the larger size change of clothes
• Smaller slippers
• A separate chair for the washbasin (because it is hard to reach)
• Take hangers from the closet and hang them on the door handle in front of the door

I was worried about getting to the buttons for the air conditioner, which can be cooled in the summer and heated in the winter.

I left it on pretty much all the time, even at night when it was electric, and I had to pull out my room key and turn off the lights one time.

I also thought it would be better if I could do it with a button on the remote or something!

It might be a hassle to call someone for a small thing, so it might be a good idea to bring something with you, even a stick that you can use to get high objects or push high buttons yourself…!

Anyway, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the hotel staff for their support.

The first screen on the TV is displayed only once, so I took a quick shot to commemorate the event.

Under the room number, the name of the person making the reservation appears! Amazing!

The password for the hotel’s Wi-Fi (GuestWiFi) is written on the home menu screen on the TV, so you should connect to it.

The home menu screen changes every few seconds with a picture of Tokyo Station Hotel, and you can select Express Checkout, Hotel Information, Hotel Information, Breakfast Congestion, Room Service Menu, Room Order Service, Original Hotel Items, TV List, Room Theater (VOD), Apps List, and Alarm Clock. (VOD), list of apps, and alarm clock. I almost forgot what kind of screen is displayed because I did not touch anything (I cried).

We could fit two wheelchairs in the room! It was nice that the aisles were wide enough in terms of space.

If you have large luggage, you may want to put your carry-on bag or suitcase in that area.

I was surprised to see a fully automatic toilet seat that automatically opens the toilet lid.

It is located to the right of the bathroom. There were no steps to enter and the transparent door was easy to open.

A chair was also placed for us.

The shower faucet is the type where you tilt the lever to the left or right, and we were able to turn it without any problem.

There are various types of electrical outlets in various places in the room.

I charged my wheelchair in the area closer to the bed than the aisle.

I placed the charger I had brought from home and asked the hotel staff to replace the battery.

The timing of the battery replacement was various: when we were first shown to our rooms, when we returned to our rooms after dinner, or when we went to the lobby. We had a spare battery in a bag hanging on the back of the wheelchair so that we could replace it even if it ran out on the way to the hotel, which was a relief even on long trips.

There is a telephone in the room so you can call the front desk staff. If you need assistance, you can use that phone.

The view might be better in the regular rooms.

This time, we in wheelchairs went to “Disney Sea” because we were going during “Halloween” with the new “LinaBelle” character and because we could go at a discount with the “Event Excitement Discount.

The fashion for the day was a JK-style outfit in pink and white.

I also bought a catsuit in a different color from the girl I went with to match my outfit.

I had never been there during Halloween and was looking forward to seeing the people around me in costumes and such.

From the station, after arriving at Maihama Station, we took the Disney Resort Line to “Disney Sea”. At the end, we took a picture of the classic globe and left.

If you read the QR code in the app and “scan” it for yourself and for the person you are going with, it will show “confirmed ● tickets” and you can tap there to get multiple tickets, so it is convenient to take multiple people’s tickets together using only one person’s smartphone account.

So we drew lots for the Disney shows, but all of them were missed, so we were not able to see the shows at the specified times.

However, a cast member told us that for “Big Band Beat – A Special Treat” early in the morning from 10:55 a.m., “if you line up, you can get in and see the show in order of first-come-first-served”, so we got in line at least 15 minutes before and were able to see the show.

The Broadway Music Theatre dancers, they were very cool.

By keeping track of what adventures I have had in the past, it makes it easier for me to plan what I want to do the next time I go.

What are you doing with the batteries in your wheelchair?

If we went around all day, the batteries in our electric wheelchairs would run out halfway through the day.

When they ran out, we had to push the wheelchair from behind ourselves.

This is very difficult when you are on a hill, or when you are carrying heavy luggage, or when you are tired from going around too many places.

Because of this past experience, we put a spare battery for the wheelchair in the luggage compartment in the back.

In fact, we spoke with another electric wheelchair user who went to Disney, and he also mentioned that he has two batteries.

It would be great if they could charge their electric wheelchair batteries while they are eating or otherwise in the Disney parks.

We cannot take the batteries out ourselves because we do not have a good grip and the batteries are heavy. So, after riding the attractions, if we had zero batteries, we could ask a cast member to replace the “electric wheelchair battery in the back” for the rest of the day.

We try to be careful not to travel too extensively and choose our route so that we don’t have to take a long way route and stop at attractions, stores, etc.

We were able to go out with other wheelchair users and ride the Disney attractions.

This time, it was from 9:00 to 21:00, so we had a lot of time to get around.

Basic Information

Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel is a relatively new 4-star hotel that opened in 2018.

All rooms have ocean views, so you can enjoy a resort-like atmosphere.

There is a bus stop in front of the Brighton Hotel, which is directly connected to Shin-Urayasu Station, from which you can take a free shuttle bus to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes.

Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel is a “welcome baby” hotel, which means that there is a space for children to play, a nursing room, a diaper-changing room, and a room with picture books, toys, and other items available for children.

Although the hotel is a little far from the station, there is a Lawson inside the hotel, where you can use local coupons, so if you need to do some shopping, Lawson will be sufficient.

Since it is Halloween period, there were many people who dressed up in costumes at the hotel and took the bus directly to Disney.

Changing clothes in the restrooms in the Disney parks or in nearby restrooms is not allowed, so if you want to dress up, do it from your hotel room or from home!

About Free Shuttle Bus

There are two to three buses per hour between Shin-Urayasu Station and the hotel.

The red and yellow buses are very conspicuous and easy to recognize from a distance.

Please be careful not to get on other buses because there are also buses bound for Ibis Hotel, Art Grace, and Oedo Onsen Urayasu Bankago at the bus stop of Shin-Urayasu Station.

This hotel also has a direct bus service from the hotel to Tokyo Disneyland and Sea, which also runs two to three times an hour.

It takes about 10 minutes from the hotel to the Land and about 15 minutes to the Sea.

The hotel bus stop is located on the first floor, with separate lines for the Shin-Urayasu Station line and the Tokyo Disney Resort line.

About the room you stayed in

Again, I used Rakuten Travel points via Moppy and took advantage of the Chiba Tokubetsu Campaign to stay at the hotel on a 1-night stay with 2 meals plan.

At the time of reservation, I had a superior twin room [32 square meters] on the 3rd to 11th floors, but upon check-in I was upgraded to a slightly larger room on the 12th floor.

Bath and toilet were separate, and amenities such as lotion were from DHC.

It is a new hotel, so it is very clean, and I think it is a nice feature to have separate bath and toilet.

Neighborhood Information

Around Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel are Oedo Onsen, Trampoland, and Celebration Hotel, a Disney hotel.

We went to see the Celebration Hotel.

Celebration Hotel has a simple service style, so it is cheaper to stay there than other Disney hotels.
*However, it is located farther from the park than other Disney hotels.

Also, this hotel is eligible for the Chiba Tokubetsu Campaign, so if you want to feel the atmosphere of the parks at your hotel, this is a good choice!

The Celebration Hotel consists of two buildings, Wish and Discover.

Discover is a pink building with a theme of adventure and discovery, and has a sea-like atmosphere.

Wish was the yellow building and the theme was dreams and fantasy, so it had a Disneyland-like atmosphere.

Both buildings have a Disney Fantasy store, a Snack & Sandry convenience store, and a breakfast café.

Breakfast is available for 1,700 yen for adults and 700 yen for children, and you have to buy a meal ticket.

The hotel is not open for business except for breakfast, so dinner was served outside the hotel.

About Meals

Breakfast and dinner were served at the Coral Table restaurant on the second floor.

The lobby is on the second floor, so it was located near the front desk.

This time, since the plan included two meals, I was given a dinner and breakfast ticket at check-in.

In addition to Coral Table, there is also UMIKAZE TERRACE, which is open only during the summer season (Saturdays, Sundays, holidays from 7/17 to 9/11 and 8/12).

Dinner was a buffet of potato, chestnut, pumpkin & green tea fair, available only on weekends and holidays.

It was very good, with freshly fried tempura, sushi made right in front of you, roast beef, and Mont Blanc parfait made to order.

The freshly fried tempura was especially good, with a light and crispy batter.

The roast beef was also tender, stringy, and delicious, and I had a second helping.

There were many dishes using potatoes, chestnuts, and pumpkins, such as sweet potato and apple pizza with Earl Grey flavored dessert pizza, pumpkin and chicken white curry, and pasta with sweet potato, mushrooms, and bacon cream sauce.

Desserts such as green tea mousse cake and pumpkin pudding were also very delicious.

The Imo, Chestnut, Pumpkin & Green Tea Fair is available for 5,400 yen for adults, 3,200 yen for elementary school students, 1,600 yen for infants (from 4 years old), and free for children under 3 years old, even if you do not stay the night.

The event is held on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from September 3 (Sat) to November 6 (Sun), 2022, so if you want to try it, please make a reservation by November 6, 2010.

The window seat seems to be a popular seat as it offers a view of the ocean.

Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel’s breakfast was ranked No. 1 in Chiba Prefecture by Rakuten Travel’s Breakfast Festival 2019.

The hotel’s breakfast offers a colorful omelette made right in front of you, with a choice of plain, squid ink, or tomato flavor, and a choice of omelette, scrambled eggs, or Urayasu omelette as the cooking method.

The omelette can be plain or with bacon and cheese.

The Urayasu Omelette is an omelette with scallion and seaweed risotto.

You can also choose from three different sauces: onion demi-glace sauce, vegetable and bacon white sauce, or tomato ketchup.

With so many different combinations to choose from, you will want to try many.

As a recommended menu item, they recommend the squid ink omelet with asari and nori risotto, so I had that one.

The sauce was onion demi-glace sauce, and the asari and nori risotto had a nice flavor.

There was not that much variety for breakfast, but it seemed to have all the standard items such as bread, rice, yogurt, and corn flakes.

There was a cup of coffee available for takeout, so I took it out.

Many of you may have been surprised by the suddenness of this Event Discount.

Even if the tickets were sold out, they may be resold with an additional limit, so you may be able to try again even if you were unable to buy or change the date. Also, there was a news flash that a part of Disneyland caved in due to construction or something, and the parade was canceled. So I’m glad I got a Sea ticket instead of a Land ticket…

Ticket Invitation Method

Press “Send” on the screen above to send your purchased tickets to someone else!

❶Press the “Send” button on the e-ticket you want to send, and choose whether you want to send it via e-mail or LINE.

Then, select the person you want to send it to and forward it to.

❷Then you will see a button called “Create Group”, press that button.

❸Press the plus sign to invite members.

Choose the members you want to go with and invite them to join you.

❹If you send it to a member, your friend will be sent a long URL, press the URL. (If you send it to LINE, it will be sent to LINE)

Now that you know how to send and receive tickets, you are ready to go!

Now, before you go, research in advance which attractions you want to ride, what goods you want, what stores and restaurants you want to visit, and what shows and parades you want to go to, if any, and share this information with your group members. Hotels and restaurants must also be reserved in advance, just as you did when you purchased your tickets!

Since crowds are expected, it may be a good idea to research warm clothes, rechargeable batteries for your cell phone, and the route to take to get there.
